Hi, Welcome to Studio Tecna.

Glover here; it will likely be me running your sessions.

We look forward to working with you through your masters and helping you realise the potential of your recordings and productions, so the tracks you submit are at their best, and you can get them good grades.

Just so you know, when you book in with us at Studio Tecna, you will have a professional engineer at your disposal so you don’t have to worry about micing up or complicated signal chains (unless you want to), allowing you to concentrate on what's important - the song, the performance & the production.

Studio Tecna will always be a safe & welcoming environment with a decent brew available.

What we offer…

  • At studio Tecna you will have world class microphones and signal chains used by music legends.

    Such as legendary vocal microphones the Neumann U47 & the Neumann U67 heard on so many hits, Neve preamps and EQ & hand built 1176 compressors.

    You’ll have access to wall of classic guitar amps, Ludwig drums, a characterful 100 year old upright piano, a Hammond B3 amongst other organs and synthesisers… All in a big, comfortable and great sounding live room with iso booths for live tracking & separation.

    Bring a guitar/sticks/voice and we have everything else you could need to record high quality audio.

  • You can bring your sessions in on a drive or laptop and mix through some of the best speakers available, the ATC SMC25.

    Expert advice will be available and we will be able to route your audio through analogue compressors and EQs. You can get hands on with your mixes utilising flying, automated faders.

    *We have most major DAWS including Logic, ProTools, Ableton & Cubase and most Waves, UAD, Fabfilter & Soundtoys plugins amongst many others.

  • Again, with monitoring from ATC you’ll be able to detect any nuance across your tracks and have advice from people who understand loudness targets and consistency across mastering in well balanced control room.

    This has proven invaluable to students in the past

  • We are sure that whatever you want to explore in your sessions, you will come away with a whole host of knowledge.

    From gaining technical knowledge and understanding how a real studio works, to picking up advice on what microphones and pre-amps to use and, importantly, WHY.

    Having done a masters and taught at Waterbear myself and with it likely being me (a professional of 20 years experience) running your sessions, I’ll be able to flag what additional information could be useful in your assessments and answer any technical questions you may have.

    If you like, spend a day working on your projects, play with some synths, experiment with effects, workshop ideas, have fun with loads of equipment at your disposal, and capture it to commit to your projects.

Booking

We offer full and half-day bookings.

We have full 8-hour sessions available to book directly from the calendar, as well as half days on Tuesdays. If you need a half day at any other time, please get in touch.

Even if you don’t think you’ll use the whole allotted time still consider booking for whats available -The experience will be valuable none the less.
